The song became a million seller via a 1950 recording by Patti Page ( The Tennessee Waltz ). Also recorded by many other artists, among them : Les Paul & Mary Ford, Jo Stafford, Guy Lombardo, Petula Clark, Patsy Cline, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Pat Boone, Eva Cassidy, Connie Francis, Emmylou Harris, Tom JOnes, Anne Murray, Elvis Presley, Billie Jo Spiers and many others.
