Hi everybody! Well, we've finally reached the end of this latest group of videos, and we've saved one of our all-time favourite songs by one of our all-time favourite artists until the very last...

This is 'Closer To Fine' by Indigo Girls. An incredible piece of writing and arrangement by one of the finest duos you'll ever come across, and who we had the absolute pleasure of seeing live in 2019 at a sit-down theatre gig in Birmingham (Mat won't go to stand up gigs anymore since missing the entirety of a Ben Folds set in Manchester due to being a short-arse).

If you had to guess what year this song was released, you might be tempted to say the late 60s because of the folky. acoustic driven sound... or you might think it was a modern song masqerading as an old classic, but we're pretty certain you'd never guess this came out in 1989: the absolute peak of the synthy, dancy, lyric-less horror show that passed for pop music.

With such incredible lyrical depth, deceptively simple arrangement and one of the catchiest hooks your're likely to hear this year, it's should come as no surprise that this is one of the very first songs we worked on as a duo way back in 2010, and still finds it's way into acoustic gigs to this day.

We'd like to thank you all for your support over the past few weeks - during this latest bunch of uploads, we managed to cross the threshold for monetization on Youtube, and it's all thanks to folks like you watching videos like this. We hope that the ads that are now popping up on our vids aren't too annoying... if Pepsi Max want to sponsor us in future, we'll glady disable them, but without the ability to go out and play live, it's really one of only a couple of ways we can earn anything as musicians.
